CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE

Dear friends, customers, and followers,

It seems like the past year has flown by. It was a delight getting back open permanently and seeing everyone again. Each month held a class or event and there will be more to come in 2023. Here is a list and photos of some of these:

March - Charity Auction to Benefit Ukraine - over €1,300 raised to benefit the war effort

Natural Dyeing Workshop - visit to Wild Cottage to forage in the dyer’s garden

Alpaca Association of Ireland - participation in craft show and handspinning demonstration

Galway Wool Co op 2nd Metheal - spinning demo with Karen O’Neill and fleece judging https://galwaywool.ie/

Purls of Wisdom Heritage Week Event - collaborated with iCraig (Science Foundation of Ireland) to inform the public on climate change through wool craft https://www.icrag-centre.org/education-and-public-engagement/planet/purls/

Alpacas of Connaught - joined the members at Galway Bay Alpacas with Sandra Marschall to demo felting and hand spinning

Autumn and Winter

Fibershed Ireland Symposium - spoke on the panel discussion of “Revindicating Irish Wool” https://fibershed.org/

Griffith College - hosted 60 international accounting majors explaining Irish Fibre Crafters, showing them what we do, and why we do it

There were many classes in felting, weaving, spinning, and natural dyeing, which will be offered again next year.
