CLADOIR/CLADDAGH CARDED FIBRE

CLADOIR/CLADDAGH CARDED FIBRE
€10.00
The Cladoir/Claddagh sheep breed was once raised in the west of Ireland for its wool, which was fine and soft for knitting. It was thought to be extinct up until a few years ago. Now, these descendants are being bred back to the original Cladoir breed. The breeding committee are selling their fibre and all proceeds go into the breeding programme. This fibre is washed and carded into batts for use by spinners, felters, dyers and weavers. Each washed and carded batt weighs 100 grams. You can read more about this beautiful sheep here:
